Break the Barrier team game update!

As we try to streamline our system and titling, we have unfortunately had to make the decision to dispense with RDC titles for Break The Barrier. However, The game is not going away. This game may still be offered by individual clubs as a practice or just fun with friends. The club may still offer ribbons or titles as they prefer.

We ourselves love this game & have enjoyed participating with our dogs, but as we move to create an easier process for clubs & exhibitors alike, we unfortunately feel this being part of RDC titling is not possible.

As always, thanks for your support!

Extreme Round Up

This will be done with 4 barrels and 2 tunnels

Performance Level
The setup with the barrels will be similar to Clover.   There is a change in distance in the placement of the barrels in this game.  The barrels will be as follows:
All dogs  20 feet
A tunnel will be placed behind Barrel #2 and Barrel #4.  The space between the center of the tunnel and the barrel is 3'.  The ends of the tunnel will be in line with the barrel.  The team start in the square and proceed like you would with Clover and the dog goes around barrel #1.  The team will then go back to the square.  The team proceeds tobarrel # 2 then back to the square.  Then the dog will go through the tunnel that is behind barrel #2.  The dog will go through the left side of the tunnel in the Performance Level.  The handler can not go between the barrel and the tunnel.  After the dog comes out of the tunnel the team will then go to the square.  The team will then continue onto barrel #3 and do the barrel as would be done in Clover.  The team will then returns to the square.  The team will continue onto barrel #4 then back to the square.  Then the dog will go through the left side of the tunnel that is behind barrel #4.  After the dog comes out of the tunnel the team will then go to the square.  The time stops when the dog touches the square.  The handler must still touch the square to qualify.  In the Performance level you may have 2 faults and still qualify.

Haltar Level
The setup with the barrels will be like Clover.
The team start in the square and proceed like you would in Halter Clover.  The dog goes around barrel #1.  The handler must stay in the square (at least one foot must stay in the square at all times when doing this level).  The dog will then come back to the square. The handler will then send the dog to barrel #2 then back to the square.  The handler will then send the dog through the tunnel that is behind barrel #2.  The dog will go through the right side of the tunnel in the Halter Level.  After the dog comes out of the tunnel it will then go to the square.  The team will then continue onto barrel #3 and do that barrel as would be done in Halter Clover.  Then back to the square.  The team will continue onto barrel #4 then back to the square.  Then the handler will send the dog into the right side of the tunnel that is behind the barrel #4 After the dog comes out of the tunnel it will return to the square.  The time stops when the dog touches the square.
In the Haltar level you may have 1 faults and still qualify.

Master and Grand Champion Rules for Round Up and Lock, Stock, & Barrel

Round Up  This game is played  on the Clover pattern.   There are 2 tunnels in this class.
Masters
The dog and owner start in the square as if they are starting the regular Clover.  The handler sends the dog around the first barrel and returns to the center.  The handler then sends the dog in the tunnel with the opening by barrel #1.  After doing the tunnel, the dog must return to the center square.  The dog then gets sent to barrel #3, go around, and come back to the center square.  The dog will then do the tunnel with the opening closest to barrel #3.  The dog will then return to square and redo barrel #1.  Back to the square, then dog goes counter clockwise and does the tunnel to the left.  The dog will go into the tunnel opening closest to barrel #1.  Back to square, then on to barrel #3, the square, then on to barrel #2, square, then the tunnel with the opening closest to barrel #2 and then the center.  The clock stops when the dog makes it back to the center square and the tame is done.

In the Grand Champion level, the owner must stay in the center square and send the dog.  In order to qualify, the team must have a clean run.  If you make a mistake you are disqualified, but you may run your dog for practice.

To earn the Masters Title, you must qualify 10 times.

In order to get a Grand Champion in the games, you must Double Q 20 times in both Round Up and Lock, Stock, & Barrel in the same venue.

Lock, Stock, & Barrel  This game is played on the Straight Line pattern with one tunnel.
Masters
The dog and owner start behind the line and the owner sends the dog around the barrels as if they are playing Straight Line .  After the last barrel, the dog will go into the tunnel closest to the handler.  The dog will exit the tunnel and reweave the barrels between the 6th and 5th ones first.  When the dog finishes weaving through the rest of the barrels and crosses the finish line, the clock will stop.   The handler must stay 2 feet away from the barrels while performing this level.
